I recently bought a 2.1 receiver (TX-8270) with Zone2 preouts. Imagine our surprise when we learned that the receiver was not controlling the volume of these pre-outs. This element worked perfectly as a line pad between the line outputs of the new receiver and the line inputs of the Zone2 amplifiers. While the level cannot be controlled with the IR remote, this feature allowed us to avoid returning the receiver and incurring a significant restocking fee. The device looked good, except that the volume knob looked bent. It wasn't bent, but when the potentiometer was soldered to the board it didn't appear to be soldered perpendicularly. Does not affect the function. I used a little threadlock on the grip screw to prevent it from coming loose in the future.
