Review on 🚨 Coast Guard Emergency Water - Mayday Pouch, 5-Year Shelf Life, Leak-Proof Pouches, 4.225 Oz/125Ml, 100 Pack - Disaster Preparedness Supplies for Earthquake, Fire, Flood by Eric Young

They are literally waterbags!

These are water bags. They don't hold much water, it takes about 4 bags to fill a regular drinking glass, but if you use them they are for life support, not comfort. The package recommends four sachets a day, but if you sweat or are in a very dry climate, expect to increase that amount. The taste of water is just wonderful. They say they have a shelf life of five years but I assume they will last much longer as nothing breaks. The pouches are fairly sturdy and the inner rubberized plastic lining is thick and strong (which can be difficult to open). The bags have enough internal storage space to easily freeze them and there is still room for storage should they not burst. . However, if you store those water bags somewhere without air conditioning, remember that ice expands by just under 10%. So if you think the water might freeze, release one volume for every ten bags. Otherwise, they will almost certainly burst at the seams when they freeze. While experimenting with ways to store water for survival kits, I loaded a can of .50 cal ammo two different ways, then placed the can in the freezer. You can store ten bags in a sandwich, and eleven bags can be stacked. In fact, you can stack twelve pouches in liquid form and still have room to close the lid (eleven frozen pouches take up the same volume as twelve liquid ones), but if the can is exposed to freezing temperatures for longer than overnight, it will with quite a bit security explode. You should be fine if you only experience nighttime frosts (e.g. if you live in a high desert). Overall, this box was the best value box on the Revain, which is why I chose it. I just wish the ruffled edges of the bags were a little smaller, some of them being almost half an inch wide and that creates more storage issues. I use them for small disaster survival kits and something for my car. If you are looking for an emergency water supply at home these are not very efficient, you should use larger gallon containers instead.
