My app was only supposed to monitor the temperature in my separate fridge freezer in my house and alert me if the door is accidentally open or ajar. me from dangerously high temperatures. I bought external temperature sensors together with the device. I also bought power strips, each with a USB output, to power devices instead of just relying on their internal batteries. I am very satisfied with these IOT devices, their performance and their cost. As for the devices, they are very valuable, work well and for those who work with industrial devices (e.g. PLM) I am very satisfied. The problem for many people is that the UI is a bit fancy and takes some time to learn and get used to. You also have to get used to the lags between the device and the website/app as the devices are not synced constantly but at intervals. After running the devices and thermocouples for several days, I determined the best fridge and freezer settings. I also realized that the units were going in and out of the freezer areas and spoiling the food. So it helped me improve the chilling and freezing process. It took me a few reboots of the devices to settle down and reliably sync to Wi-Fi. Now they are rock hard. It's a little strange to see "low voltage" devices run at 5V on USB versus 6.4V on batteries, but when the power fails it switches to the higher battery voltage. There are some other weird things like setting limits to 40F and converting UI to 39.9999. None of these things are serious and will not stop me from buying any devices. I'm very glad I bought these units before the recent pandemic, as swapping out the entire stock of food in the fridge or freezer due to an ajar door is particularly cumbersome. I was able to pay for the unit and thermocouple with the savings of a lost fridge.
