Maybe they've changed the description since you bought it, but the instructions in the product description still say "You just make a 3" hole in the table and plug the socket into the hole The power Plug must be tightened from the table below. "It absolutely will NOT fit in a 3 inch hole. I bought a DeWalt recommended 3" hole saw drill that was too small. I ended up using my jigsaw to shave off the excess and the edge of the sleeve covered my less than ideal extra cuts. Now it works great and looks very clean on my desktop.
