Purchased size 8 for my 5 year old. He's very tall for his age (48 inches) but built like a green bean, so he needs a longer length. The runner's ankles are perfect so they don't trip over excess fabric. But for his small waist he can definitely grow with him. I wish there was another color in his size because I would have bought the blue one too. Super snuggly for my baby
