Review on πŸ› Delta RP64721OB Foundations Tub Spout - Oil Bronze Pull-Up Diverter: The Perfect Addition to Enhance Your Bathroom by Rich Ferguson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The spout allows water to flow through the seal once the shower head switch is pulled out.

I installed this spout by sliding it open with a set screw. There are no instructions in the instructions so I figured you put the spout on a 1/2 inch copper plug coming out of the wall, tighten the set screw and call it good. Not really good because what prevents water from flowing through the copper pipe and into the shower wall is an o-ring that seals the copper pipe. To divert water to the shower head, the pressure increases and this pressure pushes the water through the o-ring. I thought I might have a bad seal, so I contacted Delta for a new seal. They responded to my email very quickly and actually sent me a new spout, this one without a referral too. It's also leaking. Okay, I thought maybe I overtightened the set screw and punctured the copper tubing. I just twisted the copper plug and of course water will seep through the gasket. I'm writing this on bad design as I've tried everything to get it to work. Now my only option is to solder the threaded end to the copper fitting and make sure my measurements are accurate enough that the spout is snug against the wall but still flush with the wall. The bezel on the plastic insert can be removed to reveal the standard female thread. To add insult to injury, the spout spouts the water with plenty of spray rather than smoothly as I'd expect from an expensive brand. My advice - take a different spout.
