In short: Use superglue instead of these strips. Yes, you'll never open it again, but at least it won't fall. I work in IT and do device repairs and before this iMac update I worked with other sticky screen devices like phones. I'm also a bit of a perfectionist and worried about possible problems. All of this means that I did my research and saw that people were having issues with these strips because they might not be following all the instructions. I armed this update with my research and it took me about 2.5 hours to fully clean all the old strips with alcohol. , carefully align the new strips, remove any air bubbles and press together. I left the iMac for 2 days with no issues with front and floor airbags. I was sending a customer home with their new upgraded computer and within 48 hours the screen fell off and cracked. Either the company doesn't describe all the steps (maybe use a heat gun to heat up before applying?) or you should just use superglue to assemble your iMac and not worry about it. I'm very dissatisfied with these strips because after a thorough, error-free installation, I ended up eating up the cost of the entire computer after the strips still didn't work.
