I only received one key when buying a jeep. The second key cost $228 at the dealer, including programming fees. But they erased all other keys from the car, which is good in case that key ever falls into the wrong hands again. Let's get back to those keys. These two spare keys were cut by a local locksmith for $4. I then programmed the buttons following the procedure outlined in the owner's manual. Both keys work perfectly for locking, unlocking and remote starting. These keys are almost identical to Jeep keys. The buttons are slightly raised and there are more markings on the back, but that's about it. These minor differences don't matter as I've saved hundreds of dollars by buying more keys from the dealer. Perfect for extra keys!
