Had to send back the first remote they sent me
The first remote they sent me just didn't work. I played around with the battery contacts and was able to get it to work, but then it stopped working almost immediately. They sent another one and this time I plucked the battery contacts with tweezers. This remote is now fully functional which is great as the actual volume buttons don't work that well on my TV (VR3215).
