I bought this to replace my Bluray RW drive on my Dell XPS L502x (which I've hardly used). Using Caddy with my old 1TB HGST 7200 hard drive. 2 things I don't like about this caddy: 1) The plastic surround around the caddy is too thick so the OEM screws that attach the metal anchor to the front of the caddy prevent the drive from sliding out. DO NOT install this universal trolley because it is too short. You can get longer aftermarket bolts and they should work, or you'll have to shave off the plastic trim a bit to get the bolts to fit. I didn't want that either so I put some crazy glue on the back of the piece of metal and then glued it to the fairing (see photos). that seems to be holding it in place pretty well. 2) There is no shroud protecting the back of the drive. Again I used my trusty tape and it seems to be holding the drive in place. Other than that the drive seems to be working fine, the speed was slower than my primary drive for me, but I'm just glad to have a lot more storage space so I don't have to hit my SSD!
