Wide toe area with a very durable sole. They're built to handle heavier loads than most minimalist shoes I've owned, while still displaying all the other attributes of minimalist design: flexible, well-fitting toes and feet, and extremely comfortable. Great sneakers and for the right person; ideal trail runners. I'm on my feet all day as a personal trainer. zero complaints. Highly recommended.
