Pack of 5 Eightwood N Male Plug Crimp RF Connectors: Mixed Performance

I recently purchased the Pack of 5 Eightwood N Male Plug Crimp RF Connectors for use with LMR400, Belden 9913, and RG8 coaxial cables with 50 ohm impedance. While I appreciated the convenience of receiving five connectors in one pack, my experience with these connectors was mixed. On the one hand, I found the crimping process to be relatively straightforward and the connectors themselves appear to be sturdy and well-made. However, I did experience difficulty in getting a stable connection with some of my cables. In some cases, I found that the connectors became loose over time, resulting in connectivity issues. I also found that the connectors were not always compatible with all of the cables specified in the product description. While they worked fine with some of my cables, I had difficulty with others, which was frustrating. Overall, I think the Pack of 5 Eightwood N Male Plug Crimp RF Connectors are a decent option if you're in need of connectors for LMR400, Belden 9913, or RG8 cables. However, be prepared to experience some connectivity issues, and don't assume that they will work with all cables of the specified types. For this reason, I am giving them 3 out of 5 stars.

Pros
  • Easy to Install
Cons
  • The pack of 5 connectors may not be cost-efficient for those only requiring a single connector, making it an unnecessary expense and possibly encouraging excess waste
