These filters came in sealed packages but were not new filters. The first one I installed and didn't check, but after a few months I checked and replaced it. Everything seemed fine so I installed a second one and used it for several months and then tested and installed a third filter. This one I tested showed that it was higher than tap water before filtering. tester broken? No, I bought a saline sample and calibrated the tester, it was a little off. I opened up and tested the last of the 4 and it was also over 350 vs 260 from the tap. I recently bought a new Zero water carafe that comes with a filter. The water from this filter comes out 000 perfectly. Bottom Line: Somewhere in the chain, filters sent for recycling are repackaged and sold as new. Recommendation: Check your filters immediately and return them if they are bad.
