I have been using this kettle for the past few months to make pour overs with a Clever Coffee Drip. So far no complaints and I am satisfied. The color is a nice deep red and looks great left on the stove. The thermometer lid is weighted so that it can be flipped over when removed, balancing easily and staying in place. It's a nice little feature for when you're still awake and don't have to accidentally roll the kettle lid off the worktop. It also sits neatly and comfortably in the kettle, but is easy to insert and remove with little effort. The spout looks a bit fragile so I wash it gently. Also, I only turn the burner on high enough so that the flame stays under the kettle instead of sloshing down the sides. The handle feels secure and comfortable, and the flow rate from the spout is just right for full control over where and how much water you drink. Dose. General. it has a nice sense of balance when poured. I tested the accuracy of the thermometer against another one I have for frothing milk. I put both in and adjusted the milk thermometer so that the depth of the probe is about 2 cm below the water level, flush with the boiler and they are 1 cm apart. However, it should be noted that the kettle's probe was inevitably at an angle, while the milk thermometer was oriented more vertically. However, the two thermometers stayed within 2 degrees Fahrenheit as long as the water was heated. And if you watch the water cool down, they're still more or less in sync. No, it's not exactly scientific, but I'm sure the thermometer on this teapot isn't utter nonsense. Long term durability remains to be seen but overall this is exactly what I was looking for.
