My daughter (8 years) wears a second pair of these shoes (because her feet have grown - the shoes themselves could well last a few more years). She wears them on hikes in rocky terrain where she does a lot of scrambling and scrambling, and also enjoys hiking. They are MUCH more grippy than any of her other shoes and give her a very stable and comfortable feel. They stand up to any abuse very well! Will buy another pair when she outgrows the ones she has now!
