I needed to replace some of the old porcelain light fixtures in my garage and wanted to upgrade to recessed lights because I kept breaking the old bulbs that were sticking out. This was the perfect solution as the old fixtures were mounted on crossbeams that were only 1 inch from the ceiling drywall. Installation was so easy I installed 10 lights in just a few hours. I had to buy a 6 hole 3/8 inch hole saw. After the holes were drilled, I connected the power supply to the light boxes. This happened because simple pluggable cable connectors were already attached to the headlight boxes. Very simple convenience compared to wire nuts. I had to do this from my attic as the boxes are about 1.5-2 inches thick and won't fit between the cross beam and the ceiling. However, it was a simple hookup to the power supply and then I just lowered the pig tail to hook up the lighting. From here it's literally easy to insert the headlights into their holes and you're done. I love that these lights have 5 settings from warm to cold. I chose Medium (3500k) and it's the perfect brightness for my garage.
