You need to see how to program the key fob for your car. On my 2010 model the key fob can be programmed from the car, but on my model (2011 or newer) it needs to be programmed by a dealer or locksmith. The dealer charges over $60 and the locksmith over $40. I did not experience it before purchase and experienced it after purchase. However, I was able to use the circuit board from the old key fob in the new key fob. It took some work to adjust because it wasn't accurate. It worked well and now works like the original. So if you don't have a working circuit board from your old key fob, you may have to pay extra for programming.
