When I bought my A6000 I got it with the main lens SEL50F18; I never received a single lens from the kit. The sharpness of the SEL50F18 is so high that it more than makes up for its limited versatility. However, when I recently started bird watching in my backyard, I felt the need for a telephoto lens. So I took the SEL55210, believing that even with its frosted glass it would give better results at 210mm than my main 50mm lens. I was wrong. The main lens crop at the same scale is still sharper than the SEL55210's uncropped shot. In fact, it would be better to use the digital zoom for your primary lens shots in post than the SEL55210's optical zoom. To be honest it works better. in bright sunlight, but still doesn't outperform my trusty prime lens.
