I've been using Compact Flash and particularly SanDisk as bootable media for embedded systems for over a decade. All but a few SanDisk cards got 5 stars because they are the best flash memory. A few years ago their 256MB cards wouldn't load and were null. They work, but 4GB cards at 30MB/s and only 4GB cards report a different raw disk size than it actually is. Embedded systems work fine, except there are MUCH more entries in the logs. This is the first time cards have crashed due to excessive writes to partitions that are not read-only. This does not apply to older 15MB/s and 4GB cards, as well as smaller or larger 30MB/s cards.
