Review on ZYLISS Pizza Cutter Wheel Slicer by Ken Martinez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Degraded quality

I bought one of these (Zyliss brand pizza wheel) over 10 years ago which finally broke last week, the plastic hub holding the wheel broke. The old model has held up incredibly well and the blade on the wheel has stayed sharp the entire time I've had it. In addition, it was easy to clean, the plastic assembly and blade were easy to disassemble. Although this version is called the Zyliss, it seems cheap and unreliable. The plastic itself is a much less durable compound and lighter. The sleeve does not hold the blade as securely and the blade now wobbles a bit with use. The blade also looks rather dull, especially compared to the old model. And finally, when I went to clean it for the first time, the plastic case was difficult to open and the blade didn't slide out easily, and at the same time it looked like the hub assembly was about to break. almost certainly won't last long and if this one breaks I will definitely be buying a different brand.

Pros
  • Stainless steel cutting wheel; Right or left handed
Cons
  • Some small things
