decent value. I love the Thunderbolt USB-C connection.

I've only had the monitor for a few days so I can't judge the quality over time, which is probably the most important factor for any monitor. My use case is business - general office use with advanced content display (e.g. interactive video). I do not and will not use it for gaming, as a true creative device, or for any other use case that depends on specific factors such as refresh rate, brightness, or color rendering. I. so far so good! The big plus here is the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 implementation with a power output of 85W. Being able to charge my MacBook Pro 13 or Dell XPS 13 video with perfect resolution through a thin USB-C cable is a game changer The package includes a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable, which costs $100 alone. So far, both laptops have performed exactly as expected with the Thunderbolt 3 cable. The monitor itself is very bright and the color reproduction appears relatively decent. I downloaded the color profile from Samsung's website, which seems to be a net plus in terms of brightness and color. My big minus is the included stand. First, it's angled at a steep front-to-back angle, allowing the monitor to sit more than 6 inches in the front of my desk compared to my last LG Ultra-Wide. It's actually too close to my face and I have a stand on the other side of the table. So you need to think about some kind of third party stand. Second, the stand is very sensitive to vibration. The single narrow center post between the base and the monitor just doesn't provide enough support for something that wide. Samsung will have to consider adding additional mounting points around the edges of the monitor, or converting the thin stand into a wider flat plate that provides more rigidity around the edges of the monitor. As now, the monitor trembles with very small vibrations. Doesn't look like an earthquake or anything, but it's MUCH more noticeable than my old LG Ultra-Wide. At this price, there is no need for a third party stand repair. Finally, the resolution is okay, but not outstanding. Font anti-aliasing could be much better - they look much more jagged than they should be at native resolution. I mean the notches of the early 2000s. It's not all Samsung's fault, but there should be an easy fix for that. However, it's difficult to go from a 13-inch 4K screen to a 1440p one that's many times larger and closer to my face. Things just won't be as edgy and I have to remind myself of that often. All in all, one has to wonder whether certain features of the curved ultra-wide display are worth the significant price premium. With this monitor, you're paying to jump from 1080p to 1440p, you're paying for the ability to charge Thunderbolt 3 and video over USB-C. I feel like I got a decent deal. Not great, but worthy. In the end it's about how the thing will work in 3-4 years. If nothing changes and it works perfectly, then it's really cheap.
