Review on 🦈 Terracotta Shark UpLight Upright Vacuum Cleaner by Denise Ward

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wonderful. But that! on vacuum cleaners & floor care

ALMOST perfect! This is my first handheld vacuum and overall I'm very happy with it. I have zero regrets so far. I was forced to buy a new vacuum cleaner after the Hoover wind tunnel handle broke. Let's get to the basics: Pros: The suction power of the stick vacuum feels fantastic! I feel like it outperforms my naked canister vacuum, but it definitely has less suction power. My vacuum literally stuck to the carpets in my area/hallway and it was impossible to vacuum them with it. The shark sucks them with ease, which is really amazing! Perhaps the Shark head is simply designed differently and has the same or better suction power. The bare bottom performance is amazing. I have about 30% hard floors in my house, but I also have an Airbnb cabin on my property that has 100% hard floors. This fucking creature was sucking a penny under the table right on the bare floor! Impressive! The detachable canister is unashamedly simple and practical. This makes using the wand much easier than my old vacuum. I really enjoy using the wand now, whereas before I was scared and avoided it at all costs. My favorite and most impressive features are the suction around the edges and the pet hair stick. The suction edge is amazing! This vacuum cleaner cleans right next to the baseboards like no other. My old vacuum didn't even come close and I had to use a magic wand which, as mentioned above, was a huge pain in the neck. So many that I only did it every few months because it took so long. This beast just soaks up everything and saves me so much time and effort. The pet hair removal tool is the best feature I have ever seen. It's incredibly good at getting dog hair off the couch. I have a German shepherd who stays home all the time and loves to lounge on the couch when I'm away. I used to cover the sofa with a large unsightly blanket. Now I suck it up in seconds while taking my usual weekly walk around the living room. After cleaning, not a single dog hair is left and it takes me less than a minute to vacuum the sofa. Much quicker and more efficient than using lint rollers which barely work. Finally, I like the size of the vacuum head. I was hesitant at first because it's a bit smaller than my rack and I was concerned it would take longer to vacuum that much area. However, the smaller head is a welcome improvement. I can snag so many seats my old Hoover could never do without moving furniture around. This is also a huge win! The Stick Vac style is very easy to use and I find it slightly better than my Hoover but not exponentially. I'd say vacuuming takes about the same amount of effort. It can be more difficult for children. My kids didn't use it so no comment. The extendable stand for the vacuum cleaner is just great. I love this feature! Did I mention it took longer to get it out of the box than it did to put it back together? No tools required! Finally, a big plus for me is the filter system. My old Hoover had crazy suction power. until the filter is clogged with dust. For me it was half way to my house, I had to go outside and tap out the filter and clean it at least 2 times during the weekly cleaning. These filters had to be changed every 2-3 months and were expensive. The Heppa filter also had to be changed about every 6 months. This Shark filter system is amazing. I can clean the whole house and just rinse the foam filter when I'm done. The Shark filter has less than 1/100th the amount of dirt/dust compared to the Hoover filter. The shark does an incredible job of getting dirt and dust into the canister instead of the filter. I expect a Heppa filter to last a year or more easily at this rate. Time will tell but I like this Shark system. Now for the cons: My biggest complaint and dislike is the grip. I'm a 6'5" tall guy and after a few minutes of use I have a sore on the back of my index finger. When I'm done with the house it hurts quite a bit. The grip ergonomics are just poor, probably because of my height. I end up wrapping my pinky under the grip next to the power button to keep my index knuckle from rubbing the top of the grip so it doesn't hurt.As mentioned, the power button is in the stupidest spot, but it's also not possible to place it on the front of the handle as that's the part of the canister that you take off to empty it. Unfortunately there's no way out. Finally, my only other complaint is the size of the canister. Yes, it's small and I throw it ends up going away more often, but it's a small price to pay for the portability of a "stick" style vacuum cleaner. There has to be a compromise somewhere. Overall, I'd give it a 4 for the reasons above .8 stars rate. I am very satisfied and I recommend it to everyone.
