Review on Leupold Quick Release Binocular Harness by Shane Jenkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

WARNING, this strap puts your binoculars at risk.

As reported by at least eight (8) other reviewers of this harness, I have learned (the hard way) that the two loops used to attach your binoculars to this harness are too weak , to carry it safely Medium/heavy binoculars (I have Vanguard Endeavor ED, 8x42 binoculars). Attached are two photos to give you a good idea of where this suspension has failed on two (2) separate occasions. The binocular attachment loops are not properly attached to the leather or vinyl strap, which connects to a plastic fastener that then connects the binocular to the rest of the strap. I purchased two (2) sets of this harness and when the first attachment loop broke after very light to moderate use, I replaced it with a "spare" strap from the second harness purchased which has not yet been used by my wife. Then, just two days later, the opposite/original attachment loop broke in a very similar fashion. proves that the first failure was not an accident. I am currently trying to get help from the manufacturer Leupold. but it's been more than a week and your initial reply didn't help. As long as those critical attachment points didn't fail, I was happy with the feel of the device. but after two separate failures of these attachment loops I will no longer trust my binoculars to this suspension. I hope this helps you (or not!) with your purchasing decision.
