I don't have long term use to report but so far it looks like it's working the way I need it to. First, it comes in a very small box. Which immediately shows how compact it can be when disassembled. So it fits easily in the bow hatch of my kayak. The construction looks good. Welds are clean and strong. The tube looks solid. The only possible weak point would be that the weight of your boat would be distributed across the push pins (the tubes that go into the scupper holes are adjustable in height, so in theory the weight is on the pins). The manufacturer supplies additional pins. . And if they failed after a while I just drilled a hole and either permanently screwed it to the height needed or used a clutch pin. So there is no reason to give it less than 5*. The height and width adjustment is very easy and fits my Hobie Mirage Outback. The tires are wide and have a soft rubber outer layer. They should be ideal for pavement, grass, hard dirt, rocks, etc. be. Using them on very soft, deep sand can be a challenge, but that's not what they're designed for. I've towed my kayak around my yard and driveway and it handled those surfaces well as well as bumps and transitions. I had no problem pulling the boat forward and backward and turning 360 degrees. Thanks to the rear drainage holes, the boat was well balanced. When inserted into the gutters, the top of the bogie tubes barely extended beyond the inner deck (see photo). This means you can store your cart upside down in the same drain holes when rowing (see other photo). You might think twice before doing this in salt water as there is a risk of corrosion over time. All of this results in a change I've made to my cart/basket. I wanted it to stick out of the deck surface (when towing a kayak) so I could use the hitch pin to hold the dolly in place. It's not because I think the cart might pop out of the drain holes during transport - my kayak is pretty heavy so it can't pop off the cart. But when I remove the kayak from the truck bed, I want to be able to deploy the dolly while the kayak is still in the truck bed. Hobie makes their wagons with a "wagon holder" pen for just that purpose. So I found that the 3/4" copper hitch fits perfectly onto the carriage pipe. I bolted this hitch on and then drilled a hole in the copper to use a hitch pin to keep the carriage from falling out of the drains (see Photo). ).Disassembling the cart into four parts (main frame body, two extension tubes and two wheels) is very easy and quick. Assembling is also easy. All in all, this is a good cart right out of the box. With a little modification it cost me less than $5 i have a very good alternative to the expensive hobie wagons 30 degree drop with grass, bumps, holes, small and large rocks and slightly soft sand near the water it performed well. Climbing back up the mountain was fine - the balance of the kayak on the cart was spot on and allowed me to tow 100lbs (kayak plus gear weight) with ease November update: Same kayak with more gear armor taken out. r on board (probably only about 110 pounds) at 250 yards beach. It was a fight on soft sand. However, it is not surprising. For soft sand you really need balloon tires. I also noticed that after rinsing, sand had gotten between the center hole of the wheel and the axle, preventing the wheel from spinning freely. So I wouldn't change the 5 star rating but know that on a long ride on soft beach sand these tires tend to dig in.
