Review on Canon 35Mm USM Wide Angle Lens by Amit Kumar (Amit) ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

I've wanted a 35mm for a very long time. I looked at used elks, and the first old 35mm f / 2 and Sigma. But, after weighing all the arguments, I took this one. The kit was immediately with a hood and a case, ironically, I never use them. I shoot a lot of travel, and I really wanted to find a convenient staff member for everything. The 24-70 was very heavy, the sigma 35mm is not lighter, but it had trouble focusing, especially on the side points. The reasons for buying this lens were meager weight, compactness and stabilization.

Pros
  • Excellent sharpness with open. Much sharper at f/2 than 50mm f/1.4 covered up to 2. Very fast focusing, good tracking. Lightweight, compact. Of the nice bonuses, the stabilizer and autofocus work great on the old Canon 630 film, which is already 25 years old.
Cons
  • Stabilization is a double-edged sword. You should not completely trust her: sometimes excellently sharp frames come out at 1/5 of a second, and sometimes at 1/40 there is a noticeable blur and movement.
