I installed this band on my touring bike and was happy with the feel and definitely appreciated the extra length which I consider to be the main benefit of this band. It feels quite comfortable on paved surfaces, but the gel padding is probably not enough for coarse gravel or off-road driving. This isn't a problem as you can use a gel insert under the band if you want to ride on rougher surfaces. The main problem with this tape is that it's starting to fall apart on me. This means that the top layer is separating from the gel or cushion layer. It's hard to explain, but the bottom line is the tape doesn't last as long as some of the other brands I've tried before because of this situation. I ride 300-400 miles a month, mostly on paved roads but some gravel. I also ride in the rain sometimes, including downpours (South Florida). I'm not sure if that's why the band broke, but then again I've never experienced that before with other brands. In conclusion, I think this is a good band. The main plus is the extra length. The main downside is that it doesn't stick like other tapes I've used in the past. Happy cycling! Update: I've added a few photos to better illustrate what I meant when I said the ribbon broke.
