The original version was very good, but the loading speed was top notch for my 12 Pro Max and the surface was smooth enough that a bare phone (or a phone in a hard case) would tend to spin with it vibrations from driving. The new one fixes both, with a massive charging speed improvement and a thin rubber ring that provides just enough friction to keep the phone from spinning. Solid incremental improvement; nice to see. Glad to see the included power adapter. The vent mount might not be the strongest, but it's very good (which is with an adjustable support arm) and is so easy to attach and detach that it compensates for any slight instability. .Good.
