Applying the right amount of glue takes a little getting used to. It's very neat and quick compared to using a bottle of glue, but after a while I found the card envelopes opened up when I thought they were sealed. I didn't use much, probably because I'm used to gluing. I found that both of my cartridges were having problems long before I had used up the entire spool. I've searched unsuccessfully for anything showing how to fix the twisted mess I found when I opened the dispenser. It's pretty easy to recover, so I'm hoping that helps. (1) Position the cartridge so that it matches the photo. (2) Unwind and cut the waste tape from the white take-up spool on the left side of the cartridge, leaving 4 to 5 inches (red) of waste tape. (3) With the ribbon end just cut off, follow the red path shown in the photo from the bottom of the unused spool, around the distributor pins and back over the top of the unused spool. If you are left with a few inches of used tape, avoid attempting to work with tape. (4) Stick the end of the tape to the inside of the take-up spool around where the green rectangle is in the photo. (5) Wind the take-up spool counterclockwise to take up most of the slack. (6) Turn the cartridge upside down and insert it into the dispenser. (5) Wind the take-up spool counterclockwise to take up most of the slack. (6) Turn the cartridge upside down and insert it into the dispenser.
