Bought this to reduce splattering when making butter in a blender. I have a KitchenAid Classic with a K45 bowl. The lid fits perfectly, however a lot of pressure is required to snap the rim of the lid onto the folded rim of the bowl. It's a little odd putting the lid on the blender before you put the attachment on, but it makes sense: it helps keep the hole as small as possible to minimize where spilled material can get stuck. Either way, it works. I used to use a lot of plastic wrap to keep the buttermilk off the ceiling, and a lot of it dripped down the outside of the bowl anyway. All I have to do is cover the opening with the lid and most of the splash falls back into the bowl. Win-Win.TL;DR: It fits perfectly in the KitchenAid K45 steel bowl and does its spill-proof feature VERY well.
