Review on GEDORE 1545132 Torque Wrench Torcofix by Ken Beasom

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best Torque Wrench I've Ever Owned

An additional 2 lbs of torque can strip an aluminum bolt. I was not disappointed. Kudos to Gedore for designing it with a detachable ratcheting head. Torque wrenches never measure with the same accuracy in one direction as in the other. With a detachable head it doesn't matter because you just flip it over and still only screw in one direction. I have an old Craftsman DigiTork key that displays numbers in a window as you turn the knob. It's the best torque meter I've seen, but it's not a very good wrench. This Gedore has the second best method. There is a graph that slides the arrow up and down to show your torque. It's much easier to read than the engraved numbers on the fretboard. I also like that the locking mechanism slides out and stays in while you set the torque. Simply push it back in to lock the setting. This is a beautiful key of the highest caliber. The only thing that could be better is the knurled handle, like my CDI torque wrench. This one works well, but I like the more secure knurled grip.

Pros
  • Rugged, painted tubular steel construction with zinc-plated ratcheting head and high-quality plastic parts
Cons
  • So far, so good
