Too Many Parts

I bought this based on the good reviews, however after using this product I have to say that assembling it is more of a chore if you really suck some water out of the tank have to . The motor head of the pump must be completely submerged in water to pump out water. So if you have water about 5cm deep, you can't suck it up. Instead, you have to tilt the engine to the side and hope it catches the water to suck it out completely. The pump motor head is also bulky, so if you have decor in the tank and need to get around it, it's going to be difficult to do. When using a fine sand/gravel cleaner to clean up fish poo the collector doesn't pick it all up, I feel like it spits the poo back out which is counterproductive. I found a way to add a cut out cloth to the end so anything that gets vacuumed up (e.g. poop) stays collected and doesn't spit back into my tank. Anything larger than 3-5mm? will get stuck in the pump motor and clog it up, so be careful. All hats work great. The suction works great but the small black and thin tube has nothing to attach the tube to in your bucket. It comes with clips but they don't attach to buckets so you have to be careful not to let the hose fall out of your bucket into the water. I have someone help me keep it in the bucket while I do my water changes. Not a very good pipe. After emptying the tank, you also need to pay attention to the water in the engine head. So if you forget it, you'll end up with water everywhere. I always have to put 3 cloths on the floor to make sure the water left over from the pump motor head drains there. The on/off switch is far from the hose, so it's very inconvenient to hold the suction tube/handle and then reach where it's submerged to turn it on or off (closer to the plug post). whatever you want to call it). Even if you turn off the engine, it's still sucking in water, so you need to make sure you get it out before your bucket overflows. Overall I only gave this product a 3/5 because the suction is great and the attachments work flawlessly. I just find having to assemble it every time and take it apart again after use is very tiring. You literally twist and twist every part. Comfort with functionality needs improvement. Instead I bought an old school siphon which is much more convenient than this product when it comes to removing poop and removing water from the tank.
