Review on Get Hooked On Magic: 12Pc Mermaid Crochet Hook Set With Clay Handles & Organizer by Chris Riley

Color will wear in a short time, pencil grip crocheters steer clear.

These were my first ergonomic hooks, it made a huge difference over the Boye or Susan Bates hooks that I've been using for years. However, after some intense crocheting, I developed a sore on my middle finger. It starts at my 2nd knuckle down to my fingertip. After my first day using it, I noticed an invisible sore on my finger when I brushed against something lightly. It took me a couple more days to realize that it was the crochet hook causing the issue. I've had to stop my crocheting because it was just too uncomfortable to continue. I am a pencil grip crocheter so tried the knife grip. It seemed to not cause any pain but since it is not my method of choice, it slowed down my crocheting significantly. The color on the tip of the hook is also starting to wear from half an amigurumi project. Yarn also snags A LOT on these hooks. That being said, I think these are fantastic hooks for the right person and the right grip. If the colors wearing off over time do not bother you then these will probably be great. The accessories included are really handy. I found myself using the stitch markers and the little scissors included. However, the scissors are not very sharp so when you're cutting yarn, you really have to cut it 4 or 5 times before the yarn snips off.The pouch is also really handy for keeping all your hooks together in one place but you'll find yourself digging through to find the hook you need.
