I have problems using the "ergonomic" crochet needles but need something other than the traditional needles due to thumb and wrist pain. These are so light while being the same size and shape as the traditional needles that I can crochet for much longer at a time without pain.

I love the idea of using a sustainable wood like bamboo, however, for me I wasn't used to using wood and it took me awhile to get adjusted to them. It did seems like the more I used them, the more easily they worked through the yarn. Bad thing is my puppy thought one of them was a chew toy, which wouldn't be a problem with my usual metal crochet hooks. The price was very good compared to the stores around me, even with coupons. I crochet using a knife grip and wanted to try a slightly longer hook as well as wanting to try a wooden hook. These hooks came in a nine and a half inch length and could be used to work Tunisian crochet as well as regular crochet due to the knob on the end of the hook. They were not expensive. I bought these for my wife as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. I looked over several others on Best Buy and finally decided on these based on the reviews. My wife loves these and said they are perfect. Good enough for me :)

I was skeptical, thinking that many hooks for such a great price and made of bamboo.hmm i got them few days ago and absolutely loved working with them. Im not advanced, but I used the 5.5mm hook to crochet a puff stitch hat on a medium yarn that took 2 days, the hook was smooth and not cold as the metal ones, no slipping problems.just for the organic feel this set is worth getting!

Love these. They are lightweight and smooth. So worth the price. A great set. Wish I had bought a long time ago. I already purchased another set as a gift.

They are not graduated sizes instead I received very small and very large with two marked US 10.5 size inbetween the other sizes. One of the size 10.5 hooks had such rough edges that I needed to sand smooth to use. They were not labled with the more familiar letter sizing.

The price was good. I tried a few of them with different yarns. The yarn snags on the hooks. I think with more use the hooks will become smoother and easier to use.

Some inexpensive products are best thought of as a kit that needs some re-figuring to function properly. For me, these crochet hooks were not ready to be used straight out of the package. Most of them had rough spots, which of course snagged the yarn. This problem was easily corrected by rubbing with ultrafine steel wool. Now they work as expected.

These hooks are great. They feel good in my hand and I love the extra length. I find myself always looking to use these hooks over my others.

one can never have too many hooks- and this is a nice set. a range of sizes, lightweight bamboo feels good in the hand. just be carefull with the thinner hooks- they can snap.

Got these recently and I love them so far! Much warmer, and MUCH lighter than the similar metal hooks that I've been using for years. I wish I had bought these sooner. They are really smooth, but might occasionally have a small spot that is rough, but so far, after using 3 different sizes, no catches or snags. Rubbing wax paper will smooth them out if they start to get rough. One thing though, keep an eye on them, or hide them from the pets as they have a familiar 'wooden stick' odor, and the…

I love these hooks, but I've used three sizes so far. Two of them (including the 5.5mm, which is the size I tend to use most) have chipped, and the chip tends to catch on the yarn. No biggie, as it smooths out over time, and with the help of an emery board, but it has to be noted.Overall, for the price they're a good value, so I really can't complain about a minor (fixable) flaw.

I was surprised by the lovely quality of these crochet hooks. I had originally purchased them as my "loaner" set for my knitting/crocheting club but they're so nice I don't even want to lend these out! All the hooks in my set needed quite a bit of work to make them usable. The have a finish much like disposable chopsticks. Like those, they need some buffing to remove splinters. On the large hooks, light filing with an emery board is enough. They will be fine for loose gauge projects. The smaller hooks require a lot more work. For $12 this hook set was a great deal. They feel light and warm in my hands, and though they started a little rough, after the first hour each one became noticeably shinier and smoother. I had no problems with the bamboo splitting or breaking. They are a little pointier than other hooks I've worked with, which makes it a bit easier to get into tight spaces, but does mean you're more likely to split yarn. My only complaint is that they don't have the letter sizes on them, just US and MM.
