I was enjoying crocheting an afghan with the ThinkBamboo 9mm hook until my friend's dog found my work basket and chewed up the hook. Not wanting to order an entire new set, I went out and bought a Clover Takumi soft touch hook to replace it. Within an hour of crocheting with the Takumi hook, my wrist was sore and I had to stop working. I had experienced absolutely no pain from overuse while using the ThinkBamboo hooks. I returned the Takumi, and bought a second set of these hooks.These hooks are smooth, very light and supremely comfortable. These is no finger guide on the hook, which seems to help me reduce stress on the wrist and ward off carpal tunnel syndrome.I have been crocheting for several decades, and these are now my favorite hooks.
