Review on Carbonized Brown Bamboo Crochet Hooks Set - 11 Sizes From US C/2 (3Mm) To US N/15 (10Mm), 6" (15Cm) Length By JubileeYarn by Guled Hamilton

Not worth the money.

I crochet using a knife grip and wanted to try a slightly longer hook as well as wanting to try a wooden hook. These hooks came in a nine and a half inch length and could be used to work Tunisian crochet as well as regular crochet due to the knob on the end of the hook. They were not expensive. I doubt I will purchase anything from ThinkBamboo again. I found the quality to be very poor. The wood is rough and the variety of yarns I tried to hook with them all snagged on the rough spots. The actual hook area is very shallow. So much so that I couldn't complete a yarn over because the hook portion is not indented enough to hang onto the yarn. Instead of a shallow u shape, the hook area is almost an L shape. The bamboo that they are made from feels very flimsy and they feel like they didn't get a finish sanding. I bought a set of hooks from U-nitt at the same time that I purchased these and the difference in quality between the two sets is painfully obvious. U-nitt produces a quality product. ThinkBamboo, not so much. If you are thinking about buying a set of bamboo hooks, I would suggest looking at a set of U-nitt instead.

Pros
  • The hooks are less slippery than metal hooks, making it easier to control yarn tension
Cons
  • The set may not include a size chart for easy reference
