Review on Allstar ALL36120 Diameter Aluminum Steering by Steve Modesto

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't pay $75 for it

I bought this product from Revain in "excellent" condition for $15. It is $15 Totally not worth the full price of 75€ Cons: Welds on both AN fittings compromised the bottom threads It doesn't prevent it from working fully and getting a good seal but its shoddy workmanship does. The side drilled Hole for the -6an fitting was not properly deburred and had metal shavings that needed to be removed before using it as a power steering reservoir.. The consequences of not removing these metal shavings could be pump failure or other damage to the unit. The cover is not vented. The power steering reservoir needs a vented cap to prevent the fluid from venting. The TIG welding on the -6an fitting is mediocre. O Although unlikely to experience high pressure, penetration observed from within is incomplete. The gas coverage could be better and the bead on the outside has a crater where the welder stopped welding. I doubt it will affect the function of the part, but I expect more from something of value at $75. Pros: The confused inlet works. It has two smaller diameter holes that divert the liquid to the sides to the walls of the cylinder. other welds are of good quality. For $15 if you're willing to iron out the flaws, it's a good deal. At $75 you are better off spending more on a higher quality product from another company like KRC.
