First impression: The product packaging was completely destroyed when the shipment was opened (picture). To be honest I'm shocked my bottle wasn't broken. I immediately noticed a discoloration on the metal mesh filter (pictured) that doesn't seem to go away after washing. I chose not to use the plastic centerpiece and reversed the strainer (pictured) and it works just as well. The idea of this little plastic element lying in hot water just didn't sit well with me, as the product info box mentions ABS plastic, which I don't think is BPA-free. As for actual use, the smaller compartment, which isn't double-walled, gets quite warm, but not hot enough to burn you, just as a warning. Overall, though, I like this little bottle so far. (emphasis on small) I just wish there was more drinking capacity because I drink a lot of tea. I think it would be perfect for the job!
