. Firstly, I acknowledge that this is not its intended use, so I'm not giving it a bad rating, I'm just letting anyone who might use it for the same purpose know what to expect. This tape sticks to most dry materials. wood, but it will not stick to oiled wood such as B. finished spoons or cutting boards. I've used it successfully on cedar, oak, walnut, cherry, maple and hickory. The wood needs to be fairly flat for a good seal, especially if you're going to paint or stain it. It peels off easier than tape, which comes in handy when you need to remove a lot of small pieces after engraving.
