Soft and warm in my opinion.
Small size fits average 5-6 year old boys, a bit loose as sleeves need to be rolled up. My son likes the soft inside; This makes it thicker and warmer than a regular shirt. Bought a thinner of the same brand as this one, it soon gets too warm as the temp rises.
