The outer box was creased on both ends but the inner box with stands was in perfect condition. Installation on a 2004 Dodge Ram was quick. I supported the hood with a bar and used a small flat head screwdriver to loosen the clips on the end of the hood. Then, in the same way, he removed the brackets on the wing. With "SNAP" a new strut (piston above, chrome shaft below) placed at the end of the hood. The hood was raised almost as high as it could go, with a stick holding it down so that the end of the strut in the fender was in just the right place to "snap into place". Both sides have been replaced. Now the hood stays up without the risk of it falling on my unsuspecting head! Let's see how long they last!
