The factory odor is substantial; lots of bending and misalignment

The first thing that struck me on opening it was a prominent industrial chemical odor, so strong that I had to air it out, opened and outside, for a couple days. Even that did not get rid of it all. It probably comes from the foam inner liner or other plastic components inside. This is still noticeable when getting close up to the compartment and is an issue of concern, because that scent will be absorbed by paper, cloth, and other items that may be stored in it. If all of your car tools are plastic, this might work. The dividers feel about like cardboard and the foam slots for them do not line up straight. Nearly all of this box can be bent with light hand pressure. Though its appearance may make it look like a piece of luggage, I would treat it as a plastic storage box and not as a toolbox. When I picked it up by the lid, the lid slid and distorted to the extent that it no longer aligned with the box. It is for light-duty functions, such as arts and crafts supplies or electronics parts and wires; maybe light fishing tackle. They don't give a test weight limit, but I don't expect the handle nor the strap latches to hold up very long under much weight. This is not a sturdy gun case. Some simple-cut keys are provided (photo), but I don't expect them to be of much use for a light-duty plastic box. I might buy this for Sterilite-type light duty storage, but would not at the present price point of over sixty dollars.
