The crossmember broke in less than a year
I bought these roof rails and crossbars less than a year ago. I have used them less than 10 times to transport my bike when traveling. When using it recently I noticed that my bike wobbled a bit so I thought the bolts were loose. I remove the bike rack and see that the crossbar at the top was completely snapped, if I had left it in place my bike would probably have broken completely on the roof which would have created a major safety situation. All I've ever had were 30 pound road bike roof rails that weren't supposed to snap at such a light weight. I do not recommend this product to anyone as it can create a serious safety situation for everyone involved.
