I like that the display works regardless of probe orientation and reads the temperature fairly quickly. I have special probes that are great for smoking, but they're more of a hassle than you'd like when cooking something like chicken or steak. I can't say I've tried a bottle opener and I don't think I will. I didn't buy it for that function and just feel like I'm going to overstretch the electronics to do something I can use another tool for. I can't speak about accuracy either - I just trust the number to be correct.
