I bought this so our cats wouldn't chew on various small wires around the house, data and power cords. This worked great to prevent further damage to the cords, and cats shouldn't like the ribbed texture of the cover either. You don't even get in the way of the cables anymore. Cover as many end caps as possible. The slot in the lid is a bit difficult to open and the cable plugs in without any worries. However, I've found that inserting the handle of a butter knife into the cut and moving it along while pulling the string through works very well. It's very fast when you have someone to help you. I am happy with my purchase.
