Didn't have to program on a 2011 VW/Routan
I just took the guts out of my old key fob (circuit board) and put it in the new one. The already cut key (black) fits on the new key fob. The problem with my old key fob was that the metal washers that drive the windows, doors, etc. were peeling off. You can find a YouTube video on how to fix the problem.
