Review on πŸ’‘ Industrial Electrical Connection - Comprehensive Connectors Conductor Combination Assortment by Dave Russell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than wire nuts.

I had an HVAC project where I needed to redo most of the 24VAC wiring to accommodate some additional equipment. When the HVAC company installed the system, some wire nuts were overtightened. . And because the wires in the wire nuts were different sizes and were stranded rather than solid, the smaller solid wires in the wire nut broke because the nut was twisted. oversized AWG stranded wire. Lever nuts are everything they advertise. Light. Quickly. Reliable. Two tips: 1 - Cut the wire to remove the required amount of insulation. There is a bar graph on the back of the connector. 2 - Before inserting the wire into the lever nut, make sure the lever is fully open 90 degrees. Insert the wire as far as possible and make sure the lever is pushed all the way to its original position. I've read other posts where people have used them and complained about the wires being pulled right out of the lever nut. You should not have stripped the wires properly and inserted them into the arm nut. Every wire I've terminated with a lever nut has passed the "pull test". One of the attached photos shows the air handling unit cables as the contractor installed them with nuts. The other photo shows the same wires only after I rewired them with lever nuts. .
