I like the idea that this flashlight is battery operated. This helps without additional wiring. used it to check the time on my Ford 302 engine. After my initial measurement was connected to the #1 spark plug wire, the time showed about 25 degrees behind where it should have been. The engine couldn't run that low, so I was pretty sure it wasn't right. I figured I'd take my old 12vdc time display and hook it up to double check. The 12v time display showed 12 degrees, and it was. In this case, I can no longer trust the time display of the battery-powered display. The more I think about it, as the batteries age, the accuracy of the light will probably decrease as well, which isn't a good thing. I don't want to rely on a set of weak batteries for motor control. You can't tell the battery level by the brightness of the LED, so you're just risking it being good enough. ignition cable. I would love to return it to get my money back but I think I waited too long to try it.
