Pyle Marine receiver. This inexpensive receiver has many good features. Here are some comments. Bluetooth connects very well and automatically plays your latest streaming station. Pausing, playing and skipping songs also works over the receiver's Bluetooth. The digital tuner does a good job of picking up a few distant stations and playing them back without interference. It has enough power for my 5-1/4" speakers and plays louder than I want to hear it. I think this is a very good receiver for the price I paid. I suppose if I get one If I could make a direct comparison to a more expensive unit I could tell some differences, but on the lake in my pontoon boat listening to music on Paile sounds fine to me and a big improvement over the original unit on the boat which still had a cassette player .The installation was a bit tricky as I'm not a professional, at first the unit wouldn't turn on and I wanted to return it thinking it was DOA, then I found out there was a small auxiliary red wire in addition to power and ground which also needs to be powered either through the ignition or through the auxiliary switch. When I did that everything was fine. Interestingly this is the same situation pointed out by some of the others have encountered reviewers who said their device would not work. The installation guide is a bit sketchy for a newbie and could have been more helpful to save the company from unnecessary returns and bad reviews. The wiring harness is very cheap and could be improved with better quality wiring. I had a little trouble connecting my new 16 gauge copper speaker wires to the crappy 22 gauge aluminum wires on the wire harness as the harness wires were brittle and kept breaking in the crimp connector. I finally solved this problem by twisting the wires together the old fashioned way and using the crimp connector as a cap on the twisted wires rather than a bridge between them as intended. The harness wires are only about 6 inches long. You can't repeat them too many times before you run into trouble and run out of wires, so be careful. The display isn't as bright as I'd hoped, and it's a little hard to see on a sunny day. The remote control is infrared, not RF. So you have to point it directly at the receiver for it to work. I'm not sure I understand the benefits of controlling the device with the remote when I'm sitting directly at the console. So I threw the remote control in the glove compartment and it will probably stay there for a long time. I don't know why, but Pyle's instructions say to orient the device for best results, but my console's panel is tilted down. It seems to be working fine, so I'll leave it alone. I won't mess around trying to fit the corner frame unless it gives me trouble. I really like the device, but I can't give it five stars because of the cheap wires on the wiring harness.
