Review on πŸ”Œ Metra 99-7416 Installation Kit: Perfect Fit for 2000-2003 Nissan Maxima Vehicles (Black) by Mark Green

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not suitable for Maxima 2000.

Really doesn't fit 100% like it should on my 2000 Maxima. That's mostly ok but a little annoying, mainly because they may not have tested the best in the world or there may have been some differences in dashboard design in this series (possibly 2003 as it saw many changes ) and they just used the lowest common denominator instead of having more than one product for that range. Also, it's very annoying that it doesn't come with an adapter or whatever, unless you've saved the extra metal frame that comes with some head units. My previous car (even with the Metra kit!) didn't need this extra frame and I didn't think I'd need it again so I lost it at some point over the years and then when I transplanted it to this one. I found one that just didn't quite fit. I had to adjust it a bit to make it stay and it leaves a small but very ugly open area around the unit (where dust and such can probably get in and collect). I can't blame them 100% as I really lost that part but I really don't understand why they couldn't just have a very simple cheap piece of plastic to adapt one standard size to another as I doubt that everything comes with head units this extra adapter (and I still don't understand why I needed it on this one if it wasn't on another one from the same company.)
