Purchased for Presonus digital mixer. I have a new laptop that doesn't have firewire (the only protocol this mixer uses) so I wanted to see if it can communicate over USB via an adapter, or should I sell it and buy a new mixer. Not only did it not work, I got a very nasty message from my computer about a power surge and shutting down because it was dangerous for the motherboard. Since then I've been getting digital distortion from the mixer when connected to a computer (I haven't tested this in live settings) but I suspect it also damaged my mixer. This adapter costs $1500 instead of $7.
